Tim, a magna cum laude graduate in Communication Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, began his professional journey with an internship at the European Producers Association 'Eurocinema'. In 2007, he joined IBBT-Smit, and a year later, embarked on a PhD research project funded by FWO-Vlaanderen, focusing on Public Service Broadcasting in a networked media ecology. Successfully defending his PhD in 2014, his research centered on conceptualizing the role of Public Service Media within a networked media constellation. Tim’s expertise lies in media management and policy, with a specialization in Public Service broadcasting partnerships and the independent television production sector, leading various audiovisual policy and management research projects since 2007.
