Cathrin Bengesser

Cathrin Bengesser, Assistant Professor for Digital Media Industries at Aarhus University, focuses on the European streaming and film market, transnational audiences, and European media policy. She leads the AUFF-funded project “EUVoD” (2021-24), analyzing the shift from broadcast to VoD in Europe, and participates in the Horizon Europe project “Crescine” (2023-26), aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of film industries in smaller markets. Bengesser also contributed to a study on European production companies for the EC’s Directorate-General. Additionally, she is the co-director of Aarhus University’s Centre for Transnational Media Research and chairs ECREA’s Television Section.
